The parts households underestimate
Cure periods are immovable. Waterproofing layers, setting materials, and silicone each carry manufacturer wait times before the next step or first use, and using the shower early to save a hotel night can compromise the assembly you just paid for. Ask for the cure calendar up front so the last days of the schedule are understood as real work, not padding.
Water shutoffs ripple beyond the bathroom. Supply work can interrupt the whole house for hours at a time, and drain work can put fixtures elsewhere off limits too. Agree on notice periods for shutoffs, and keep drinking water and a kettle plan for the days the house goes dry.
Dust and access decide how the rest of the home weathers the project. A sealed work zone, a protected route to the door, and a daily tidy standard keep the disruption inside one room's footprint. The communication rhythm, a brief daily note on what happened and what is next, costs the crew minutes and saves the household its sanity.
